aeromigo

Paragliding instrument for iPhone · Beta

Read the air at a glance

Aeromigo turns your iPhone into a flight deck: vario, altitude and wind, competition tasks, a thermal assistant that learns from every turn, and an IGC recorder that keeps going with the screen locked. Big numbers you can read in full sun.

Free beta through Apple TestFlight · iPhone with iOS 18 or later · App in English and Russian

A real flight over Ölüdeniz, replayed: the map follows the pilot through the task, then the thermal page takes over while the glider climbs.
Field types32

Altitude, vario, glide, wind, navigation, XC, maps and graphs. Build as many pages as you like.

Layouts per page2

Landscape and portrait are laid out separately, so each fits the way you mount the phone.

Offline area10–50km

Radius of a flying area saved with map, terrain and airspace for flights without a signal.

Glider models217

Median glide from real flights, adjusted for class, size, harness and the reserve you keep.

Thermal assistant

Find the core, then stay in it

Every turn leaves a trail coloured by your vario: warm for lift, blue for sink. After a full circle Aeromigo shows which side climbed better. It also estimates the core from everything you flew in the last two and a half minutes, with recent turns counting more, and the estimate can sit outside the circle you are flying. You see which way to shift before the next turn.

  • The stronger-side cue appears only when the difference stands out from vario noise
  • Wind drift: classic, particle drift or none, chosen per field
  • Your last thermals stay on the map with their climb and age
  • Switches to the thermal page by itself when you start circling
A climb from the same flight. The trail drifts with the wind measured in the turns; the ring marks where the core is estimated to be.

Competition tasks

Load the task, let it count cylinders

Open a task file someone sent in Telegram or WhatsApp, scan the QR code on the briefing board, or read it from a screenshot. Aeromigo shows the task before it replaces yours. In the air it advances to the next turnpoint as you tag each cylinder.

  • Start gates, SSS and ESS, start close and goal deadline
  • Drag a turnpoint on the map; its altitude comes from the terrain
  • Taken points dashed green, the current target red, the rest blue and numbered
  • Waypoint libraries with CUP and WPT import, CUP export and go-to any point
  • Share a task as a file, as text or as a QR code

Glide and arrival

Know if you make goal before you leave the thermal

Set up your pilot and glider once: class, size, harness, and the reserve you want to keep. Aeromigo turns that into a working glide ratio and combines it with the wind it measured in your circles to show your height over the terrain on arrival, the glide you need and the glide you are flying.

  • Glide fields turn green when goal is in reach with your reserve, pink when it is not
  • The wind from your last thermal is kept for three minutes on glide, with its age shown
  • Without a fresh wind estimate the calculation says it assumes calm air

XC and FAI

Close the triangle

While you fly, Aeromigo looks for the longest open distance and the best FAI triangle in your track. The FAI assistant draws the sector where your third turnpoint can go, shows the minimum, real and maximum triangle size, and guides you back into the closing area within 5 % or 20 %.

Recording and logbook

A recorder you never have to start

Recording starts when Aeromigo sees you take off and closes after you land. It keeps going with the screen locked, and if the app is interrupted it picks the same flight up again. Every flight lands in a logbook you can search, replay and share.

  • Flight and Hike & Fly modes
  • Replay at 1×, 5×, 20× or 60× with every instrument and the thermal assistant
  • IGC and GPX export, plus a detailed sensor log for flight analysis
  • Search, filters, totals, and a trash you can restore from
  • Publish to XContest on its own website inside the app, with the right IGC file ready

And the rest of the deck

Made for the way you fly

Maps offline

Prepare the area the night before

Pick a centre and a radius from 10 to 50 km. Base map, terrain shading, roads, towns, peaks and airspace are saved for flights without a signal.

Airspace

Warnings that know your height

Load an OpenAir file or airspace by country. Zones appear on the map, and a proximity field warns you by distance and altitude.

Thermal map

Where thermals usually are

The kk7 thermal hotspot map over the terrain, with its own transparency for each map field, saved with your area.

Instruments

Your sensors, or your vario's

Uses the iPhone's GPS, barometer and compass. Pair a Bluetooth vario such as XCTracer and Aeromigo reads its climb and pressure, falling back to the phone if the link drops.

Sound

Audio vario and flight cues

Your own climb and sink thresholds. Short tones for takeoff, landing, each turnpoint and the start gate opening, over your music and with the screen locked.

Buddies

Friends on the radar

Pilots received by a FANET or FLARM vario appear on a radar page and on your maps, with height and climb. Up to eight at a time.

Screens

Pages laid out on a grid

As many pages as you like, each with its own landscape and portrait layout. Light, dark, system and a high-contrast daylight theme.

Units

km, NM or miles

Distance, speed, height and climb are chosen separately: km/h, knots or mph; metres or feet; m/s, ft/min or knots.

In flight

A quiet, steady screen

The screen keeps its orientation from takeoff to landing. A Flight Focus guide keeps calls and notifications quiet while you are airborne.

Privacy

Your flights stay on your iPhone

No account, no ads, no analytics, no tracking. Nothing leaves the phone unless you send it: a flight you share, a report you choose to send, or the map tiles Aeromigo downloads for the area you fly.

Beta

Fly the beta

Aeromigo is in a free beta for pilots through Apple TestFlight. Leave your email and we will send you the invitation as soon as Apple approves the first build.

Aeromigo is not a certified instrument. Fly with your usual vario as well, and send feedback from the app: Menu → About → Report to developer.

Not there yet

  • Live tracking and automatic flight upload
  • Signed IGC files for competition scoring
  • Official XC scoring; route, wind and thermal estimates are experimental
